Enhance Your Home’s Efficiency with AEP Texas! The AEP Texas Residential Standard Offer Program offers valuable incentives to participating contractors who install eligible energy efficiency products and services in your home.
Important Note: AEP Texas does not enroll customers directly in these programs. To get started, please reach out to an approved contractor who can assist you.
Purpose of Program
The objective of this program is to encourage and help residential customers reduce their energy consumption by installing energy efficient measures in their homes. Eligible energy efficiency measures include:
Home Envelope Measures
- Insulation
- Air Infiltration (door weather-stripping, door thresholds, sealing plumbing penetrations, sealing attic accesses, etc.)
Interior Energy Usage Measures
- ENERGY STAR® LED light bulbs
- Water heater insulation blankets, water heater pipe insulation, low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators
Air Conditioning System Measures
- A/C System Duct Testing and Sealing
- High-efficiency Split-system Air Conditioning Systems & Heat Pumps (complete system change-out required)
- High-efficiency Packaged-unit Air Conditioning Systems & Heat Pumps (complete system change-out required)
Visual Inspections
In order for contractors to receive their incentives, an AEP Texas representative will perform random inspections to ensure quality of service and verify installation of the equipment.
A scheduled inspection, at the customer’s convenience, will consist of a walk-though in the customer’s home and should only take about 10 minutes.
Program Funding
Program funding is limited. Incentives are paid directly to the participating contractor. Most measures may be provided at low or no cost as a result of incentives received; however, all work to be performed by contractor is at the customer’s discretion.
